‘White Buffalo’ heads unusual boxing cast

There’s never a dull moment when Fransie Botha fights.

The veteran heavyweight will limber up again, this time in New Zealand on June 13, to take on rookie Joseph Parker in a fight to be broadcast live on SuperSport.

It will be Botha’s first bout since his controversial loss to Sonny Bill Williams in Australia in February.

The 60-fight veteran will be favoured to beat Parker, who has had just five pro fights (all wins) after a solid amateur career.

In an unusual twist, Botha’s son Marcel steps into the ring for his debut, fighting Jeremy Sebastian, brother of Australian singer Guy Sebastian.

Also making his pro debut is the son of former All Black superstar Inga Tuigamala, Jordan Tuigamala. He will fight at super-middleweight.

In a first for SuperSport, a “dwarf boxing world championship” will also be contested between Matthew Wood and Colin Lane.
