Weng unhappy with draw

Plateau United forward, Edward Weng is a disappointed man after his side shared points with City rivals and hosts, Mighty Jets in an NNL Matchday 6 game at the Rwang Pam Stadium, Jos on Saturday.

However, the barren draw ensured Christopher Danjuma's team kept their place at the top of the NNL Group A log on 11 points against the challengers' 10 points.

Weng said his side went into the game to pick maximum points and almost achieved it but for the referee's denial of their goal.

"We're disappointed but happy to be on top with the barren draw though we actually wanted three points to widen the gap at the top. We scored a good goal but the referee disallowed it.

"We're playing three home matches on the stretch, today's (Saturday's) game is more or less like we played home from away, as we use same pitch, the Rwang Pam Stadium.

"We'll make it up in the next games against Taraba United and Giwa FC. We've dropped two points we'll strive to pick all the points in subsequent games," said the former El Kanemi Warriors' hitman to supersport.com.

Weng said Mighty Jets proved to be one of Nigeria's oldest sides in the Jos supremacy derby.

"Mighty Jets played better in the first half as we came into the game stronger in the second half and practically dominated play till the end. We were a bit jittery but after half time pep talk we calmed down and played our normal game," he said.
